Clari-Tea’s

These tea recipes promote a sense of clarity (I hope you got the pun in the title – good one right?), relaxation and peace. These delicate and fragrant mixes harmoniously blend together, nurturing body and mind, allowing one to feel calm yet rejuvenated.

Still Mind Tea

This recipe is best drunk in the morning. Ginger is warming and stimulating to the system, promoting the function of agni (digestive fire). Lemongrass and cardamom are both cooling in nature. Cardamom is excellent for pacifying vāta and therefore stills any jumpiness in the mind. Lemongrass promotes greater concentration and decreases anxiety. Both lemongrass and cardamom are natural anti-depressants, working to uplift one’s mood and support healthy mental functioning.

Makes 1 little pot (approx. 3 glasses)

1 stick of lemongrass

A few slices of fresh ginger

4 cardamom pods crushed

Place all ingredients in Boiling water and allow to steep for at least 7mins (the longer the stronger). Strain and enjoy!

Restorative Claritea

Sage treats stress and low spirits, as well as reducing muscle tension and supporting memory function, making it a well-rounded and supportive herb. Coriander seed also boosts memory activity, as well as aiding digestion and detoxification of the liver. Fennel is cooling and calming for the mind, and is a cardiac tonic so supports the heart. Clove is a natural pain reliever and promotes freshness.

Makes 1 little pot (approx. 3 glasses)

1 tsp. dried sage

½ tsp. coriander seed

1 tsp. fennel seed

5 cloves

4 cardamom pods

Bash all ingredients together with a pestle and mortar then add to boiling water. Steep for 5-10mins. Strain and enjoy! Can be drunk before bed for a fully restorative experience.
